The Smockelaer is located in an authentic Limburg carré farm and is a wonderfully unique event venue.

At the top of one of the most beautiful hills in South Limburg, surrounded by the Roebelsbos and Slenaken, lies the Smockelaer. The farm houses several conference rooms, a restaurant, and 22 luxury bedrooms. (and at our 2nd location just 2 km away, another 12 very luxurious rooms, making a total of overnight stays possible for up to 92 people).

Let yourself be inspired by our Vakwerk
An authentic timber-framed barn is the shell of our new location. The timber framing made with oak wood, cement, sand, straw, and ingredients I better not mention, but are readily available, exudes calmness, honesty, and warmth. The interior no longer resembles the original from a distance. Where tractors and cows used to stand, there is now space for a beautiful wooden floor, a coffee corner, lamps inspired by the old gas lamps of the past, and chairs that Churchill once sat on, but have undergone such a transformation that you might want to take one home.
However, I have saved the best for last: the fantastic view over Het Plateau van Heijenrath, on top of the Alp d´Huez of the Netherlands.

The size of the conference room(s) is always adjusted to the group size, so the conference room is never too big or too small. Of course, you can avail yourself of facilities such as a projector, audio system, etc. The apartments are equipped with a shared living room with terrace. The bedrooms come with a private bathroom, box spring beds, TV, and internet connection.

The auberge has organized various activities for both active and less active groups. For example, a cooking clinic, fort adventure, or archery course can be arranged.
