Fort de Batterijen is an inspiring and relaxing location close to Utrecht. The monumental fort from 

1871 – 1873 
 has been developed in recent years from a wild fort area into a unique event location. The fort is the perfect place for events, brainstorms, meetings, conferences, and dinners. Due to its unique characteristics, the fort area is an atmospheric location for any group size. The total occupancy of Fort de Batterijen includes five objects, including the Guardhouse, the monumental Artillery Shed, and three bunkers spread across the fort area. The more than two hectares of land that belong to the fort offer extensive possibilities for outdoor events. For example, it is possible to set up tents or temporary structures and organize outdoor activities. 

The Guardhouse
What was once the sleeping quarters and waiting area for the troops is now a special space for meetings and events. The Guardhouse consists of a combination of five vaults, three of which can be used for gatherings. The spaces are fresh, industrial, and modernly decorated with natural elements. With large façade windows, the spaces appear light and fresh, and during a meeting, you can look out over the greenery of the fort area and the trickling water of the fort ditch. This setting, combined with the natural and contemporary decor of the building, makes the vaults very suitable spaces for inspiring gatherings with smaller groups.  

The Artillery Shed
The Artillery Shed is a characteristic shed of over 250 m² and offers a beautiful view of the green surroundings. The ground floor, with atmospheric wooden beams and steel accents, consists of a large characteristic space for plenary meetings of up to 200 guests. The second floor of the Artillery Shed has two subspaces, making it extremely suitable for meetings, workshops, and brainstorms.

Unique outdoor location
In the summer months, it is also possible to meet, brainstorm, or dine outside in the fresh air. Stylish stretch tents have been set up on the nature-rich fort area, providing a unique setting for business events. Of course, audiovisuals and catering can also be facilitated here, and various setups are possible. With chirping birds in the background, guests enjoy your program in this inspiring environment.

Drinks at the Bunkerbar
Finished with the program and time to relax? In front of the impressive red doors of the Ammunition Storage is the rugged Bunkerbar. Enjoy a cold drink under the sand-colored stretch tent or take a seat on the terrace in the sun. While you enjoy the view over the fort area, the barbecue is lit for a delightful end to the day.

Our story
Fort de Batterijen is part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The defense line served from 1871 until around 1940 and was established as an outpost of Fort Jutphaas. After the fort area was closed for 100 years, Fort de Batterijen has been revived since early 2017 as an inspiring location for the business market. With attention to nature and history, this raw area has been developed into an atmospheric event location.

Fort de Batterijen is located in the middle of the Netherlands, beautifully situated by the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal and nestled in greenery. The location is in the green heart of Utrecht and is easily accessible from all parts of the Netherlands. Your guests can make use of the ample parking available around the area.
