About the venue
Le Coq is a complex of the oldest wooden houses in Zaandam, built between 1640 and 1860. The house is located on the idyllic Hanenpad, a former waterway full of history, where fish sellers, craftsmen, and carpenters used to live and work.
Today, it is a unique place to gather with your team, friends, or family. On the grounds, you can taste the past in every detail: from the wooden cladding to the characteristic arched windows and authentic bed elements. Le Coq blue is the only building that has been completely renovated and is excellently insulated, with preservation of character.
What makes Le Coq special:
- Built in the 17th century, restored with love and craftsmanship
- Located by the Hanenpadsloot and near the historic lock
- Bohemian chic interior with warm colors and original elements
- Free parking at the door
Coming together in a memorable place
- Meetings: Away from the office, in a house with history. At Le Coq, you can meet in peace, overlooking the water and surrounded by characterful details from the 17th century. Ideal for a strategy session, brainstorm, or retreat – without the standard flip-chart room feeling.
- Overnight stays: Complete your day with an overnight stay in one of the oldest wooden houses in Zaandam. With a view of the Hanenpadsloot, wooden floors, and an interior that breathes history. Bohemian chic meets tranquility and simplicity.
For those who seek atmosphere and character.
For teams that want to come together to grow.
For families and groups of friends who want to celebrate beautiful moments together.
For organizations that seek depth and a setting that invites it.
Le Coq is there for those who love peace, charm, and an environment that makes you look at things a little differently.
Do you want to expand the day with something special, such as:
- a lecture by Suzanne Rethans (known from the podcast We are not crazy?) about menopause and work?
- a demonstration of traditional salmon and eel smoking?
Let us know in your request.
