About the venue
In the middle of the Rotterdam port area, on the site of the former Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM), lies the RDM Cantine. A place where, at the beginning of the 20th century, metalworkers and shipbuilders gathered during breaks, with a sandwich from their own lunchbox. This role of meeting and coming together has remained to this day.
And actually, it’s no different today. The ‘workers’ have changed and the lunchboxes stay at home, but the moment of gathering in the cantine is still the same. Besides being a meeting place for companies and students on the site, the RDM Cantine is also excellent for various events.
The interior combines authentic industrial elements with contemporary accents: high ceilings, robust materials, and atmospheric lighting, complemented by color accents and warm details. The location consists of two parts. The RDM Hall can be separated by a steel glass wall, making it extremely suitable for meetings, presentations, or plenary moments in complete peace. The cantine area is the heart of the location, featuring a bar, restaurant setup, and direct connection to the kitchen: ideal for meetings, drinks, and dinners.
Outside, the RDM Cantine has a terrace with a view of the harbor, which is excellent for business drinks and barbecues in nice weather.
The RDM Cantine is easily accessible by car, with ample free parking right in front. Additionally, the location can be uniquely reached by water taxi, which docks at the Cantine.
Curious about our location and the possibilities? We would love to introduce you to this inspiring place in the port area!
