RDM Kantine

In the middle of the Rotterdam port area, on the site of the former Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij (RDM), lies the RDM Kantine. A place where, in the early 20th century, metalworkers and shipbuilders gathered during breaks, with a sandwich from their own lunchbox. This function of meeting and gathering has remained to this day.

And actually, it hasn't changed to this day. The ‘workers’ have changed and the lunchboxes stay at home, but the moment of gathering in the kantine is still the same. Besides being a meeting place for companies and students on the site, the RDM Kantine is also excellent for various events. 

The interior combines authentic industrial elements with contemporary accents: high ceilings, robust materials, and atmospheric lighting, complemented by color accents and warm details. The location consists of two parts. The RDM Zaal can be separated by a steel glass wall, making it extremely suitable for meetings, presentations or plenary moments in complete tranquility. The kantine area forms the heart of the location, with a bar, restaurant setup and direct connection to the kitchen: ideal for meetings, drinks, and dinners.

Outside, the RDM Kantine has a terrace with a view of the harbor, which is perfect for business drinks and barbecues in nice weather. 

The RDM Kantine is easily accessible by car, with ample free parking right at the door. Additionally, the location can be uniquely reached by water taxi, which docks at the Kantine.
