About the venue
Atmospheric monument in the heart of Amsterdam
In the heart of Amsterdam, around the corner from the Nieuwmarkt, the Waterlooplein, and the Hortus Botanicus, stands the old synagogue of the former city island Uilenburg: the Uilenburgersjoel.
The 'Owl' is a beloved and atmospheric location for various gatherings. The authentic high Synagogue hall is often used for plenary meetings such as presentations, lectures, and conferences. The Grachtenzaal below serves as a cozy catering/drinks space. At the back, this room overlooks the Uilenburgergracht, and through the opening doors, you step into the surrounding inner garden of the sjoel. In that garden, there is the new Tuinzaal, which is well-suited for smaller meetings and breakouts.
