About the venue
Le Coq is a complex of the oldest wooden houses in Zaandam, built between 1640 and 1860. The house is located on the idyllic Hanenpad, a former waterway full of history, where fish sellers, craftsmen, and carpenters used to live and work.
Today it is a unique place to gather with your team, friends, or family. On the grounds, you can taste the past in every detail: from the wooden cladding to the characteristic arched windows and the authentic bedstead elements. Le Coq blue is the only building that has been completely renovated and excellently insulated, while retaining character.
What makes Le Coq special:
- Built in the 17th century, restored with love and craftsmanship
- Located by the Hanenpadsloot and close to the historic lock
- Bohemian chic interior with warm colors and original elements
- Free parking at the door
Gathering in a memorable place
- Meetings: Out of the office, in a house with history. At Le Coq, you can meet in peace, with a view of the water and surrounded by characterful details from the 17th century. Ideal for a strategy session, brainstorming or retreat – without the typical flip chart room feeling.
- Overnight stay: Complete your day with an overnight stay in one of the oldest wooden houses in Zaandam. With a view of the Hanenpadsloot, wooden floors, and a decor that breathes history. Bohemian chic meets tranquility and simplicity.
For those seeking atmosphere and character.
For teams wanting to come together to grow.
For families and friend groups wanting to celebrate beautiful moments together.
For organizations looking for depth and a setting that invites it.
Le Coq is for those who love peace, charm, and an environment that makes you see things a little differently.
Would you like to extend the day with something special, such as:
- a lecture by Suzanne Rethans (known from the podcast We are not crazy?) about the transition and work?
- a demonstration of traditional salmon and eel smoking?
Include it in your request.
