Close to Leeuwarden, far from the hustle and bustle

Weidum is located in the Frisian meadow landscape, eight kilometers from Leeuwarden. You can reach it by car in ten minutes. And yet, you are right in the meadows, directly on the Eleven Cities route.

On the property stands a kop-hals-romp farmhouse from 1867. This farmhouse is the heart of the location. Surrounding it is a three-hectare estate.

Two spaces in the farmhouse

• De Deel – the former hay storage in the barn, converted into a meeting room. Up to 70 people.
• Het Voorhuis – the farmhouse residence, with a large downstairs area. For smaller groups, up to about 12 people.

Why should you come here?

Because there is little to distract you. No view of a parking lot, no office across the street. Just meadows, sky, and the Swette.

Food comes from our own kitchen

On the property is restaurant WeidumerHout, now 43 years old and one of the most famous in Friesland. We cook with what Friesland provides us: local products, in tune with the seasons. We take care of lunch, dinner, and drinks ourselves.

After the session, you don’t have to hit the road anymore

You can stay overnight in Het Voorhuis, a Farm Room, a Garden Room, a Meadow Suite, a Tiny House Cabin, or a Houseboat. Together, there are 54 beds. The Group House is Het Voorhuis with the six farm rooms on the first floor included: eighteen people under one roof. There are also camper spots available.

Dogs are welcome in the meadow suites, the tiny house cabins, the houseboats, the garden rooms, and Het Voorhuis, and in one room in the farmhouse. Not in the farm rooms on the upper floor: there is carpet there. The surcharge is 25 euros per dog per stay.

Pean-buiten Akkrum is Green Key Gold certified and Weidum is working hard towards it. Think of local catering, a vegetable garden, rainwater collection, and solar panels. We prefer to show sustainability rather than talk about it.
