About
This cozy and intimate 50m2 room is located on the ground floor in the Villa and is ideally suited for meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
The warm and homely space is naturally divided into two by the wooden arch and the richly decorated cabinet wall. This layout makes the space functional and pleasant to use: on one side there is space for meetings, while the other side is perfect for breaks, lunch, or a drink. When the weather is nice, the French doors can be opened, allowing you to enjoy the adjacent terrace with a view of the garden.
The story behind the room
Heinnie Jongerius (1890-1974) was the wife of Jan Jongerius and the mother of ten children. The Heinnie room used to be the salon, or the living room, in the Villa. It was also the place where a special card table stood, as Heinnie enjoyed card games.
After the construction of the Villa in 1939, Heinnie was responsible for the interior styling, showcasing her love for the Louis XIV style; colorful and richly decorated with a multitude of patterns. The recently restored wall clock is no exception and is back hanging in its original place.
