About
This business and inspiring space of 64m2 is located on the first floor of the Villa and is ideal for meetings, workshops, or training sessions.
Upon entering, what immediately catches the eye are the illuminated glass walls with large historical photos of the Jongerius complex and the family, giving the space a unique atmosphere. The elongated space is user-friendly, with, for example, a meeting setup on one side and seating areas on the other side for break times or for splitting into subgroups. There is plenty of room to hang things on the walls.
On sunny days, the large balcony can be used exclusively for your group, offering views over the former Headquarters and the surrounding area.
The story behind the room
The Jan room is named after the designer and builder of the Jongerius complex, Jan Jongerius (1888-1941).
Jan was an entrepreneur at heart, first in his father's vegetable and fruit trade and later he installed Texaco gas pumps throughout the Netherlands and became the largest Ford dealer in the country. Jan Jongerius traveled extensively, including to North Africa and America, where he likely got his inspiration for the design of the Villa and the Headquarters.
Originally, the Jan room consisted of two bedrooms with a bathroom in the middle section.
